Wildlife on the Park

Forest Park has an unwavering commitment to nature and conservation.

We are proud to have won the Bellamy Gold Award for Conservation every year for the past 22* years, and this award celebrates the steps we take to help wildlife flourish.

A stay on the park offers a great opportunity to get outdoors and experience nature – as well as to educate younger family members on the importance of preserving and protecting wildlife for generations to come.

Sheep

Did you know we have our very own Norfolk Horn Sheep on the park?

These gorgeous, fluffy friends are known for their distinctive horns and lovely temperaments – come and say hello to our lovely flock!

Fun fact: They are actually one of the oldest sheep breeds in the UK, with roots dating back to the 13th century.

Deer

We have lovely deer roaming freely around the park. In 2025, we ran a ‘name a deer’ competition and the winning name was Beauty.

Every day, feeding takes place at 11:15am on Greenwalk – come by and say hi to Beauty and the rest of our deer!

Bees

We have our own beehives on the park – and the homemade honey is then sold in our on-site Village Shop.

BEE sure to give it a try and let us know what you think!

Kestrels

In one of our oldest Oak trees on the park, we have a Kestrel box.

Every year, we are blessed with their nestlings as the Kestrels return to lay their eggs!

Plants

We are very conscious of which plants we use, as we want to ensure both that they are bee-friendly and that they attract other wildlife – such as bugs, butterflies and songbirds.

Look out for all the wildlife signs around the park and scan the QR code to directly access this page!

Pigs

We have 8 Gloucestershire Old Spot x Oxford Sandy & Black pigs. These little characters are mud lovers, snack experts and professional nap-takers, proudly showing off some of the finest snouts in the county.

You’ll find them waiting to meet you at the end of the fairy trail, so be sure to stop by and say hello on your next visit.
